Craft Beer & Writing | NaNoWriMo Location

Here at Final Draft Taphouse, we encourage people to tell stories, write stories, create stories, film stories, and/or share stories how ever you choose! The power of stories is great! Storytelling is the oldest form of making connections and making sense of the world around us!

Stories have always been naturally told at pubs, bars, and we are very intentionally about creating a taphouse where people can share their stories. One of the ways we do that is with our writing group Brews ‘N Write-In. On a monthly basis on the first Monday of each month, we host a Brews ‘N Write-In meet up event. Writers of all kinds are invited to come and write together while having a pint! It’s a casual setting but the writers write! We do this because we understand just how hard it is find time to write, so this write-in group is meant to encourage people to write and come together and meet other writers!

What do craft beer and writing have in common? Well, for one, they are two of Final Draft’s co-owner Kimberly’s loves! Second, they are both forms of art and bring people together! One thing that we are doing for the month of November is being a “Come Write In” Location for NaNoWriMo! One our your Brews N Write-In regular attendees/writers is a faithful NaNoWriMo writer and brought it up to the group a last year. Encouraging everyone to consider the challenge, several of the Brews N Write-In have decided to commit to writing every day in November.

Therefore, we have decided to become an official NaNoWriMo Location.

What does that mean for us? That means you are welcome to come and write anytime in our taphouse during the month of November. In addition, we have designated a few times for all of us to gather in the backroom for NaNoWriMo.

Those times are:

• Monday, November 11 - 6:30 -8:30 pm

• Thursday, November 21 - 6:30 - 8:30 pm

• Saturday, November 30 - 1-4 pm

We will have our specific Brews N Write In as we always do on November 4. We hope you will join us in writing whether it be just on November 4 or throughout the month. Happy Writing!

Couve Brew Bevy Brewed The Official Beer Brothers Cascadia Brewing I Vancouver Brewfest

Our brew-loving ladies of our ladies beer social group Couve Brew Bevy had the opportunity to brew the official beer for the summer Vancouver Brewfest with Brothers Cascadia Brewing recently! Check out this video to learn more about it!

Brothers & Sisters Pale Ale will make its debut at the Vancouver Brewfest this weekend August 9 & 10, and the Bevy ladies will be pouring the beer for all to enjoy! Stop by the official beer booth and let us know what you think!

We celebrated two years in the craft beer business this past weekend! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! We can not be more grateful for all the love and support and for all the friendships and connections that have come from opening Final Draft Taphouse!

We look forward to many more years of sharing stories and craft beer together!

We're Turning TWO! I Save the Dates I July 26 & 27

We are turning TWO in July, and we're going to throw a party! Save the date for July 26 AND 27! 

We are so excited to celebrate our two-year anniversary with all of you. We're having TWO rad events, and here are more of the details!

Friday, July 26 - We'll be releasing our special TWO-YEAR Anniversary beer we brewed in collaboration with Brothers Cascadia Brewing! This will be a special, limited CAN RELEASE that you will want to get...a rad label included designed by our friend Jeremy Backer!

Saturday, July 27 - We're throwing a big ole two-year party this day/night that it will feel like Christmas in July! A bunch of crazy, awesome barrel-aged beers on tap, cake, giveaways, Santa is going to make a visit - even though he is very busy getting ready for the real deal Christmas, and we'll have beery christmas caroling led by our brew-loving ladies of Couve Brew Bevy!

We hope you can join us. One night, two nights, either way, we would love to celebrate with you and give you a HUGE THANK YOU hug, high-five or cheers! Because well, we wouldn't be two years old without all of you!

Independent Craft Beer I We are Supporters!

We support independent craft beer! It is at the core of what we do, and we believe in independent craft beer! We support local, independent craft bee because craft beer brewers are innovative, take risks, create new and adventurous flavors, and are the backbone to building better communities!

Have you ever noticed when a craft brewery opens in an area or a town or a city, that the economy and area shapes up, cleans up, becomes alive again?

Craft beer is all about small business, community, and the craft beer community supports values and beliefs that benefit each other and the communities they serve!

Independence is also important because independent craft beer brewers aren’t beholden to BIG beer. When you are consuming craft beer, do you know who makes it? Do you know if they are truly independent or not?

Seek the Seal! The Brewers Association has created an independent craft beer seal that looks like the one below (without the supporter on the bottom). 4,400 craft beer breweries across the United States have adopted the seal and display it in their breweries and on their craft-beer packaging. Look for the seal to truly know if the beer you are drinking is independent!

Darts Tournament I Every Sunday I Vancouver Wa.

Every Sunday we host Darts and Drafts. Darts and Drafts is a dart tournament where anyone (21+) can join in the fun. It is free to play and be a part of the tournament. Sign up starts at 5 pm. Dart games start at 5:30 p.m. The tournament is single elimination, and the winner wins a $15 gift card and all the glory for the week!

Join us for some darts, some craft beer and meet other dart enthusiasts!
