Brews 'N Write In - December Meet-Up

Calling all Writers!

This monthly “write-in” is a great way to hone your writing skills, embrace the benefits of free-writing, write that story you’ve always wanted to write, and set aside a time to write ….your blog posts, your poems, the start of your book …..all the while sipping on a craft beer/cider/wine to spur your creativity!

For those who might be hesitant or who discover writer’s block in the moment, we will have a writing topic/exercise that you will be able to write about if nothing else is coming to you!

Our format will be 25-10-25-10. We write for twenty five minutes, talk for 10, then repeat! If people want to stay beyond this time, for writing, connecting and having pints together, everyone is welcome to do so!

This group meets monthly. While this group is casual and relaxed, we do want people to have the space and time to write so we will get quickly settled in and then get to writing right off the bat. Please arrive early to get a beer and food!

This group is to motivate, inspire like-minded people to put pen to paper or fingers to the keyboard to write those stories who’ve always wanted to get into the world!

And it’s a great way to meet others who love to write and get the inspiration you need to get to Write-In!

We hope you will join us for our Brews 'N Write-In!

Bonfire Caravan Gathering - Spark-to-Bonfire Storytelling!

Bonfire Caravan Gathering at Final Draft Taphouse Hosted by Steven Shomler

Tuesday Evening November 13th from 7 PM – 8:30 PM, we are having a Bonfire Caravan gathering at Final Draft Taphouse!

Bonfire Caravan is a community for people who are pursuing the life they imagine by building a brand or building a business.

This is a community where you can cheer others on, and where you can give & receive encouragement.

If you are building a brand or building a business and the idea of being part of a community like this resonates with you, you are welcome to attend this event and you are welcome to be part of our fantastic community.

More About Tuesday Evening November 13th

It is easier to cheer someone one when you know a little of their story, and tonight will be all about hearing stories!

During this event you will get to hear from two people who are doing the work to live the life they imagine!

One of them is building a brand and transitioning to whole new career, and the other is building a business and doing an incredible job leading her culinary startup!

Both of these amazing women will speak for 10 minutes each telling us what they are up to, and sharing a few of their highs and lows!

Also -- During this gathering YOU will have an opportunity to take 4 minutes and tell us part of your story!

Please Note - if you are an introvert and you would rather not tell your story – NO problem! No one will be put on the spot.

Final Draft Taphouse is located at 11504 SE Mill Plain Blvd Suite C, Vancouver, Washington 98684

For More Information about the Bonfire Caravan Community go to www.BonfireCaravan.com

We look forward to hearing your story & learning about the Brand or Business that you are building, and cheering you on as you pursue the life you imagine!

Heathen MegaMint Release & Barrel Aged Beer Night

Join us for the release of this year's MegaMint from Heathen Brewing!

The MegaMint is Heathen's Imperial Chocolate Milk Stout, big & Bold with a touch of Mint. This Imperial Chocolate Milk Stout is kicked up a notch by using fresh picked mint in the brewing process. The milk sugar leaves a pleasant residual sweetness that is balanced with the chocolate & biscuit notes of the specialty malt that are seductively balanced with aroma of the cacao nibs and fresh mint. When ready to sip a thin mint cookie, crack the wax seal and enjoy dessert!

Come hang out with the Heathen gang, get yourself some MegaMint before anyone else, and enjoy some of Heathen's other big, bourbon aged dark beers - Reindeer Tears and Epitaph - tapping this night as well!

CLOSED - Private Event - Brewed Theology

We will be closed for a private event. Sorry for the inconvenience! Please plan accordingly and get your cans/growlers on Monday, October 22!

____________________________________________________________________________

Here are the details of the event. While we are closed for this event, Messiah Lutheran Church invites all to participate!

Two Opportunities on Tuesday, October 23, 2018
4:00-5:30pm and 7:00-8:30pm
Synopsis

In a culture of give and take, what does it mean to live life in the reverse order? Are we born as takers or givers? As we age, do we become more, or less, generous? We will explore these questions, the intersection between faith and finances in our lives, and how our perspectives may have changed through the years.

Invite a Guest
The moniker for all Brewed Theology events is “What church looks like.” As we continue to discover where God is working ahead of us outside the walls of the church, Intern Joel and I encourage you to consider this and all BT events as opportunities for authentic connection to the Messiah community and to the Messiah.

Guest Presenter
The Rev. Steve Olson is a Luther Seminary graduate and classmate of Prs. Peter and Kathy. He began his pastoral career in the Seattle area where he developed his stewardship chops and an appreciation for the joy of giving. He has served as a consultant to 56 congregations and specialized ministries in stewardship development. Before establishing his own firm, Steve was Vice President of for Development & University Relations at Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA.

Location - a 'private party' event at Final Draft Tap House in Vancouver
We have reserved the entire pub for both the afternoon and evening iterations of this event. You are welcome and encouraged to arrive early or stay late to order dinner or hor d’oeuvres as we have the pub reserved from 3-10pm. See the menu. Parking is in the strip mall area in front of, around, and behind the taphouse.

Preparatory Homework
Intern Pr. Joel and Pr. Peter will send the links to preparatory homework in a separate email to the address you use to register. These links will go out 7 days or so in advance of the event. Please share the links with each person for whom you register.

Cover Charge Amount - $2/person
We use the cover charge to pay guest speakers a small honorarium, cover their food and beverages, as well as pay for room rentals. Thank you for your investment.

We hope to see you at either of the seating times for Brewed Theology on October 23:
4:00-5:30pm or 7:00-8:30pm.
Feel free to arrive early.

Beers and blessings to you,
Team BT - Pr. Peter and Intern Pr. Joel
